these are awesome! they are cast iron so they will last forever. they are by curios, a local designer, and weigh a ton! (ok, 9oz, but that's a lot for a coaster). this is a limited edition set of 4 ($95), but worth every penny. for more info about how these are made or to buy a set, click here.

this cute onesie ($20) has my design on it! roxy printed it for me on slate blue american apparel. it also comes in yellow with a red star for toddlers. the mens' version keeps changing, right now its on argyle, before it was on a yellow football jersey. keep checking, i keep changing it! click here : onesie

bubble earrings

these cute little earrings are great for everyday wear or an evening out. they are about half and inch long, sterling silver bubbles by stephanie at metalicious. she also makes matching necklaces and a lot of her designs look like bubbles! as i've mentioned before, i love bubbles. click here : earrings

this is one of my favorite photographs ($45). its by jeffrey miller of a rose petal floating in central park. i think it reminds me of a photo my mom took in the 70's that hangs in their family room. there's something so beautiful and serene about this. click here : float photo

yummy fragrances on sale

i keep borrowing one of these from the store. by analogous jewelry, it has a 1" solid sterling silver skull. it hangs on an 18" sterling silver ball chain, and it can hang through one eye, both, thru the base, its got a lot of variations. store family

i realize i mention members of the store, and i figure i should introduce them to whomever is reading this (hi!). so, there's me, jessica, the store owner, curator, graphic designer, blogger, and oz (the woman behind the curtain). next we have delphine, the store manager and style guru. she also looks like a thinner, more vintagely fashionable version of me. many customers get us confused or think we're sisters. davis, assistant manager, gallery coordinator and renovator, will return to us in the fall when he resumes his role as pratt art history student. until then, you can visit or harass him at his summer occupation - valet at the river cafe. he'll be the one holding the umbrella in the pouring rain.

other regular faces at the store are roxanne, pete and mooch (shop dog) of roxy's tee parlour, which is located in the basement.

tree hoodie

this is a great shirt. i personally own one. so does davis. it is a unisex v-neck grey long sleeved hooded tee and comes in sizes xs-xxl ($48). its super comfy and has a tree on both the front and back. the photo is from denitza, the artist, who prints these shirts in her local studio. it is based on her artwork, which is really cool. i met the owner of hena coffee through rosalie at the brooklyn chamber of commerce. a third-generation brooklyn coffee roasting company, they have come up with a brooklyn coffee house blend. if i drank coffee, i could tell you how it tastes, but last time i had coffee i didn't stop talking for over 12 hours (sorry sam.) i gave a sample to roxanne, so once she's tried it, i'll report back. i have had repeat customers, so i'm gonna give it the artez'n seal of approval. click here : bkyn coffee

silk screen classes

so, there are lots of you out there who want to make your own t-shirts. well, we offer a class for that. the 6 hour class covers everything you need to know to make your own. using water based inks, roxanne bohana (of roxy's tee parlour) will take you from the beginning to the end of the process. you will make your own screens, print your own shirts and leave with the knowledge to make just one shirt or start your own business. class has 3 people max, so you will be sure to get lots of individual attention. roxy also offers the class most saturdays (and sometimes wednesday evenings) so there is bound to be a date you can make it. click here : class info and registration

puppy love

another new artist we've recently welcomed to the artez'n family is robbie dawg. created by lisa fortunato, this line of organic doggie treats (and cat treats) are made in red hook. the colorful packages come in various sizes: from pocket size snack tins ($4) to boxes with over 120 biscuits ($10). the flavours sound tasty, and since they're organic, delphine tried the applewood bacon and cheddar. she said it tasted like a baby cookie. mooch (the shop dog) likes the arroz con pollo. stop by for free samples, and bring your puppies. artez'n is very dog friendly!!! to see our flavours, click here. oh, and i also love that lisa donates biscuits to no-kill adoption centers and other needy puppy orgs.
